Celebrate the Movies: Weekend Events 2/27 – 3/1

Philly continues to heat up as the temperature stays cool.

Whether you want to work on bikes, smell the roses or help animals, this weekend has plenty in store for you. Kick back and enjoy Philly’s best events.

Weekend Events February 27th – March 1st:

  • Bike Build: Cadence Youth Cycling is expanding and they need your help to build bikes. Join the party, enjoy food & drink and support this great cause. Sunday, March 1at 11:00am – 4:00pm, 1100 E Mermaid Ln, Glenside, PA 19038; $20 suggested donation at the door. Facebook event & RSVP.
  • Philadelphia Flower Show: Get ready for the International Flower Show, Celebrating the Movies! Opens Saturday, February 28, 2015. Flower Show Website.
  • Creature Comfort: A Celebration of the Clinic: Celebrate the Schuylkill Center’s Wildlife Clinic (and rehabilitation center) by meeting staff and volunteers, and get a behind-the-scenes look at how the clinic operates, enjoying a live animal show of creatures rehabilitated by the clinic. Please bring surplus cleaning supplies like paper towels, bleach, trash bags, towels and rags, plus dog and/or cat food to help them prep for the new season. February 28, 11 am – 12:30 pm, 8480 Hagy’s Mill Road, Philadelphia, PA 19128, website, FREE.
  • Friends of High School Park: Winter Warm Up: Help fund the park and have a great time with new and old friends. Wine, beer, delicious hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants and scrumptious desserts. Exciting silent auction items, music and fun all evening long. Proceeds support the Friends of High School Park.   • Global Service Jam! The Strategic Design MBA of PhilaU is co-sponsoring this event with Independence Blue Cross’ Innovation Center. The Global Service Jam can be likened to a global hackathon, except the focus is on innovating services: education, healthcare, transportation, etc. It will happen all around the world, at the same time, with all teams responding to the same word prompt.
