TTF Watershed’s Office Warming Party on 9/17

Our friends over at the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership is welcoming friends into their new office at the Globe Dye Works.

Visit their new space during the ‘Office Warming Party” on September 17th from 5:30 to 7 PM. The Globe Dye Works is a converted factory building in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. Located at 4500 Worth Street, the building first opened in 1865, running a yard dyeing business.

The Globe Dye Works even was awarded a Stormwater Management Incentives Program (SMIP) by the Philadelphia Water Department:

The Stormwater Management Incentives Program was created by The City of Philadelphia, through PWD andPIDC, to help reduce the volume of stormwater runoff entering the City’s sewer system and to simultaneously help beautify communities. The grant helps businesses and nonprofits green large, impervious properties and unburden the city’s sewer system from high volumes of stormwater runoff. Stormwater management tools, such as green roofs, porous paving, rain gardens, stormwater tree trenches, detention and retention basins reduce a property’s impervious surface, also resulting in lower monthly stormwater charges.

The TTF Watershed‘s mission is “to enhance the health and vitality of the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Creek and its watershed.” They have awesome initiatives like educational events, community outreach, cleanup days and much more to get involved in. Check out their recent video on the Tacony Creek RestorationDirector Julie Slavet and the team are cooking up some great work!

RSVP to linda@ttfwatershed.org if you are attending!
