SustainPHL Committee: Who’s Organizing This Event

We’re getting excited for SustainPHL on August 18th. With an all-star nominee lineup,

Who’s behind the event and organizing it?

Julie Hancher: You guys know me as co-founder & Editor of Green Philly Blog. Aside from avid bourbon taster, explorer and recycling queen, I’m psyched to be creating the first SustainPHL with the amazing and talented ladies featured in this post.

Enjoying Open Streets PHL

What Julie’s most excited about for SustainPHL: “I’m excited about bringing the sustainability community together in one room. There are so many incredible people in Philly that you’d think have each other on speed dial – but don’t!

Plus, I’m excited for the Munch & Learn. Interactive exhibits that will help attendees incorporate sustainability through DIY composting, fermenting as they sample beers from local makers like Saint Benjamin’s Brewing.”

Kristina Beese  is a photographer, baker and kitchen mess maker. When she’s not writing recipes or photographing her latest confection, she enjoys traveling, hiking and eternally searching for the next best meal. Knowing that cooking is a labor of love, she hopes to inspire others to find joy in their kitchen and gratitude in their bellies.

What Kristina is most excited about for SustainPHL: “I am excited to recognize the lesser known heroes taking initiative in our city and to further build enthusiasm and awareness around sustainability with all those attending!”

Nicole Koedyker is a sustainable business advocate in the Greater Philadelphia Area. In addition to her role at Forsei, she is also pursuing her Dual MBA/MPA in Sustainable Management, and is a sought after speaker on B Corporations.

What Nicole is most excited about for SustainPHL: “I’m excited to rightfully appreciate and honor those who have been working to make Philly amazing. This is the underdog’s time to shine!”

Lauren Long, CFP® is a Director of Wealth Advisory for Threshold Group, a multi-family wealth management office with a focus on Impact Investing. She frequently volunteers as a mentor, team leader, and to further social impact.

What Lauren is most excited about for SustainPHL: “Besides being involved in the first ever SustainPHL, I’m most excited to broaden the reach of sustainability and impact investing (#impinv) to my peers in Philly.”

Lucy Nguyen is a Project Account Manager for Ashfield Meetings & Events, planning events in domestic and international markets.  She has been nominated as a 2014 and 2015 “Mover & Shaker” within Ashfield and highlighted in Special Events Magazine as a “Top 25 Event Professional to Watch”.

Why Lucy is involved in SustainPHL: “I joined the SustainPHL planning committee because I wanted to make an impact in the Philadelphia Community. I’m so excited to learn more about sustainability, hear about what drives our local advocates and of course, enjoy the delicious fare at the 1st SustainPHL event!”

Make sure to get your SustainPHL tickets ASAP for the best rate possible. (Early Bird prices end on 6/28!)
