Happy Friday readers!

What did you do this week? Have you been acting drunk due to lack of sleep? Or drunk by the awesome pop up gardens that help our local economy? Celebrating our rising cat numbers in Philly?

Maybe even voting for Green Philly as Best Local Blogger on the Philly Hot List? (Hint hint… please!)

Regardless, good news: The weekend is back with a variety of things to do.

Whether you’re looking to join in a Bud Light park clean up, go for a family nature walk, or celebrate with a Northern Liberties street festival, Philly is the place to be.

Here are Philly’s best events for the weekend of August 1-3, 2014:

  • First Friday @ 806 Experiment: Join Koliyan Cambodian Desserts and Peddler Coffee at their test Kitchen, 806 Experiment, for an evening featuring the photography of local artist Nema Etebar. The night won’t be complete without a selection of coffee-whiskey pairings from Peddler and durian ice cream fresh from Koliyan’s kitchen. Friday August 1st, 6 – 9 PM, 806 S. 6th St., Free.
  • Saturdays @SCEE: Join the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education for Story Time in the Discovery Center followed by a naturalist-led walk on the areas’ trails. Enjoy the outdoors, catching tadpoles, watching butterflies, and exploring the woods this weekend! August 2nd, 10:30 – 11:30 AM, 8480 Hagy’s Mill Road. Free.
  • Northern Liberties 2nd Street Festival: Come out for Northern Liberties’ 6th annual festival celebrating positive and healthy lifestyles. Enjoy live music, food, games, and craft vendors while supporting a safer, greener and happier environment for Philly to appreciate. Sunday August 3rd, 12- 10 PM, N. 2nd St. between Germantown St. & Green St.,
  • Penn Treaty Park Cleanup: Join Bud Light and Keep Philadelphia Beautiful for a park cleanup this weekend! Together volunteers will be cleaning up, weeding, painting and more at Fishtown’s Penn Treaty Park. Sunday August 3rd, 10 AM – 2:30 PM, 1398 Beach St., Free, Register (must be over 21 with valid ID).

What are you looking forward to this weekend? Tell us in the comments!
