Perfect Weather: Events for August 10 – 16, 2015

 

Summer’s in full force here in Philly.

Enjoy this deliciously cool summer days (and pending rainstorms) while it lasts, especially with these great events!

Week Events August 10 – 13, 2015:

  • 350Philadelphia Happy Hour: Whether you’ve come to 350Philly events before or not, this no-frills pub will be the scene for an open time to meet fellow comrades for a drink and great convos. Wednesday, August 12th from 5-7 PM; Fergie’s Pub (1214 Sansom St, Philadelphia PA 19107); RSVP.
  • GMIC August Happy Hour: Join the Mid Atlantic Chapter of Green Meeting Industrial Council (GMIC) at Yards Brewery. There will be brewery tours, beer, a souvenir Yards logo pint glass, munchies andnetworking with like-minded planners and suppliers. Thursday, August 13, 2015; 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM; 901 N. Delaware Ave., Philadelphia, PA; Register.
  • Philly Super Meetup: Have a beer, grab a snack and hear about the latest tech & entrepreneurial scene’s latest projects and events. It’s the Philly Super Meetup, organized by Technical.ly. Wednesday, August 12 from 5-8 PM ; the Shambles at Headhouse Square; Free. Register.

Weekend Events August 14 – 16, 2015:

  • Caribbean Night on the Parkway: Join this family-friendly event filled with a Live DJ, the always exciting Zumba on the Parkway, then a Caribbean themed concert with performance by our areas most promising talent, concluding with the Movie Screening of Cool Runnings. Friday August 14th; FREE ; Eakins Oval, on the Philadelphia Parkway;  Eakins Oval, on the Philadelphia Parkway
  • Shooting Stars & S’mores: More than 60 meteors shoot through the sky every hour during the Perseid Meteor shower – so join the Schuylkill Center to watch these falling stars. Use telescopes to take a close look at planets and stars and afterward, relax fireside for s’mores and stories.
    Friday, August 14 at 9:00 pm; $5; Register.
  • City Fit Girls August Bike Ride: Ride along Kelly Drive to the East Falls Bridge and up MLK Drive. After the ride, head to a local cafe for coffee and snacks. Saturday, August 15 at 9 AM. Philadelphia Museum of Art, More deets.
  • Go take a hike: Guided hike + meditation at the Horticulture Center Grounds: Join for a special combo event — a hike around the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center grounds followed by a guided meditation! Disclaimer no prior experience with meditation or hiking required. Sunday, August 16th from 10:30 AM – 12 PM; Fairmount Park Horticultural Center (100 N Horticultural Drive), Tickets.
