Weekly Round-Up: Events for November 24-28th

Happy Monday!  Hopefully you were able to enjoy the beautiful weekend weather and catch some of the Philadelphia Marathon Runners.  Congratulations to all who passed the finish line!

This week, as you’re busily preparing for friends and family, don’t forget to take some time to enjoy yourself and give to those less fortunate.

Week Events November 24 – 28:

  • Thanksgiving Day Parade: In its 95th year running, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade is an amazing tradition.  See the Benjamin Franklin Parkway transformed with giant balloons, festive floats, lively dancers, costumed characters, celebrities and marching bands. Thursday Nov 27 @ 8:30AM.  Begins at 20th Street and JFK Boulevard. More Info.
  • Turkey Drop: Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK’s morning host, John DeBella will broadcast live while accepting donations this year at Turkey Drop at Love Park.  The Turkey Drop benefits City Team Philadelphia, an organization that provides food and services to less fortunate individuals, families, shelters and food groups in the tri-state. Tuesday Nov 26th @ 6-9AM. Love Park, John F. Kennedy Blvd. Philadelphia, PA 19104. Frozen turkeys; “free turkey” coupons; cash donations.
  • The Nooner Yoga Class:  This one hour yoga class is for all skill levels and is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up. Stretch, relax, laugh and leave recharged for the rest of your day. Mondays and Wednesdays @ 12-1PM. Pacific Yoga, 2518 Cedar Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125. Register Here.
  • Shady Brook Farm Holiday Light Show: Over three million lights of whimsical displays and characters illuminate Shady Brook Farm.  Experience the magic from your own car or from an open air wagon ride.  Afterwards, enjoy some hot chocolate and smores.  Proceeds from the Holiday Light Show benefit The National MS Society, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County. Open every night from 5-10PM.  Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Road, Yardley, PA 19067. Prices Vary.
  • Blue Cross RiverRink Opening Day: This year’s winter wonderland at Penn’s Landing opens with a guest appearance by Anna and Elsa from 11AM-2PM.  Also enjoy enjoy a flower crown workshop, Fear No Ice ice sculptors, holiday pumpkin carving, a balloon artist and face painter, as well as tons of giveaways.
