May the 4th Be Awesome with You: Events May 4 – 7, 2015

Congrats to the 40,000 runners that completed the Broad Street Run yesterday! I was happy to complete my Broad Street Run on behalf of the Fairmount Park Conservancy, making Philly beautiful for all of us.

It’s a gorgeous week to be in Philly and here’s the best events to enjoy it.

Philly Week Events: May 4-7, 2015:

  • May YIP Run to Philly Improv Theatre: Join Young Involved Philadelphia (YIP) and Philadephia Runner in May for a run to Philly Improv Theatre at 20th and Sansom. Tuesday, May 5th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM; Philadelphia Runner (16th & Sansom) ; Meetup.
  • Nerd Nite No. 48: Dirty MRFs, Dangers of Democratization, and Jedi Junk: Join the kids of Nerd Night to talk about MRFs, Democratization & Star Wars. Our fav part? Keep Philadelphia Beautiful director Michelle Feldman will address “What happens after your recyclables are picked up? Join your plastic bottles and milk cartons as they head to a Materials Recovery Facility, get crushed and melted, and then end up as a park bench or a jacket.” Wednesday, May 6th at 7:30 PM; Frankford Hall,1210 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, $5, Facebook RSVP
  • Green Drinks Philadelphia: Gather across the city with sustainability-minded folk to chat, network & enjoy the Springtime weather. Wednesday, May 6 from 6-8 PM, Northern Liberties (Standard Tap) / Bridget Foy’s, 200 South Street, Cherry Hill NJ (The Farm & Fisherman Tavern + Market / 1422 Marlton Pike E).
  • Spoke Magazine Issue Two Launch Party: Join the SPOKE staffers and contributors for a good time, to chat or just hang, because it’s Thursday night. Thursday, May 7 from 6:30 – 9 PM at W/N W/N Coffee Bar, a café/pub/all-around chill spot at 931 Spring Garden St. Facebook RSVP.
