It’s another gorgeous week in Philadelphia.

The leaves are changing, the colors are bright and everyone’s trying to get to the Eastern State Penitentiary before Halloween.

Week Events October 26 – October 29, 2015

  • Tree Talk & Sappy Hour: Trees play a crucial role in the health, sustainability of our cities, and influencing the way we think about our city. Head about the importance of trees to past, present and future Philadelphians and then head to Yards for “Sappy” Hour. Tuesday, October 27th from 5-7:30 PM; Penn Treaty Park, RSVP / Buy Tickets.
  • October 2015 Philly Full Moon Ride. The Hunter Moon:  Ride the full moon bike ride (route approximately 10 miles,) and end will be at a random bar. Tuesday, October 27th at 8:00 PM; Art Museum, More deets.
  • Women Bike PHL – Coffee Club: Each Wednesday, Women Bike PHL meet at a different coffee shop in Philadelphia for Coffee Club — an informal gathering where Philly’s women bicyclists can share tips, rant, support, celebrate, and, most importantly….CAFFEINATE together.   • DVGBC Groundbreaker Awards: DVGBC is honoring groundbreaking leadership and celebrating the green building movement with a fantastic evening of food, cocktails, music, and networking, while recognizing the accomplishments of the individuals and companies constantly working to move the sustainability industry forward. October 29th, 2015 at Union Trust in Center City Philadelphia, buy tickets.

Weekend Events October 30 – November 1st

  • Manayunk Bridge Trail Opening Celebration: Schuylkill River Towns is hosting a celebration that will bring Action Team members, their friends, and family, down the trail from their communities to converge on the new Manayunk Bridge Trail. This event will commemorate the Circuit Trail’s completion as well as celebrate the new connection being made to towns all the way upriver. Saturday, October 31st at 10 AM – 1:30 PM; Riverbend Cycles, 1 Station Ave, Conshohocken, PA, Tickets.
  • Family Fall Fest: By My Side’s first annual fundraising event- the Family Fall Festival- is a unique event designed to provide families with young children a safe way to celebrate Halloween and bring families together for this free public event. Saturday, October 31st from 12-4 PM; NKCDC Garden Center, 1825 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19125, more info.
  • Dia de los Muertos Altar Celebration – Fleisher Sanctuary: Join Fleisher and the official Day of the Dead committee Calaca Flaca (Skinny Skeleton) as we hold our third Día de los Muertos celebration with an elaborated altar piece in our historic Sanctuary space. This special night will feature the Día de los Muertos performance, and performance by traditional Aztec dance group Cenzontle Cuicatl.
