Catch up on the latest sustainability news this week.

It’s getting hot(ter) in here September. Despite what JD Vance said about “crazy weather patterns,” climate change continues to impact the US, from temperatures to supercharging Hurricane Helene’s destruction. This past month was warmer, with an average temperature of 70.6°F, which was 0.7° above normal, and the 0.77 inches of precipitation was 18% of the normal amount. Overall, September in Philadelphia is getting hotter, leading to a change of 3.3°F since 1970. There are signs it will continue: NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center is forecasting a warmer October in Pennsylvania as well. Climate Central

A local museum is reducing its carbon footprint with old technology.
