Dyvert is working on two tracks. The first track is a venture that provides customizable & adaptable waste collection systems that help businesses, institutions, and venues recycle and compost better. Their second track is a campaign to bring recycling education and sustainability awareness to small community spaces that are centered around youth, education, arts, etc. Dyvert believes that recycling should be easily understood, accessible, and everywhere. It should be a bare minimum and merely a first small step towards a circular economy.
Green Ablutions is a plastic-free haircare company. Owner Natalie Lennick’s success story started in early 2019, when she read a story in the Philadelphia Inquirer that reported that the city was burning half of its recycling because it was cheaper than processing responsibly. She quickly realized recycling alone wouldn’t solve our problems. She vowed to cut back on single-use plastic but finding effective sustainable replacements wasn’t easy — they often came with a premium price tag (a sad construct that environmentalism is for the privileged) or questionable greenwashing claims. When she couldn’t find products that worked for her and her family, she decided to do it herself.
SHIFT Sustainable Goods + Service is a low-waste community hub and refillery. After starting a zero-waste community group on Facebook in January 2019, they quickly realized the need for local access to sustainable goods and began the journey of creating a sustainability hub on the Main Line. After a pandemic pause on the launch of SHIFT, they opened as a pop-up shop in January 2022 before expanding into their own storefront in June.
