Local youth activist featured in Nickelodeon special on climate change

Sabirah Mahmud speaks about environmental racism in Earth Day episode

A local youth activist (and former GP panelist) Sabirah Mahmud appears in a new Earth Day special, Nick News: Kids and the Impact of Climate Change.

The special will explore environmental racism introducing viewers to communities that are being besieged by industries that target underserved areas, typically populated by minorities, bringing employment opportunities that often harm the environment and cause health issues for residents.

The episode will air Saturday, April 17th at 9 PM on Nickelodeon. Watchers can see additional segments on Nick Play.
