GPB on WHYY Radio Times: Bonus Sustainability Resources

Last Monday, I joined the WHYY Radio Times Broadcast about how to reduce your carbon footprint & live sustainably with Mary Cummings-Jordan and Umbra Fisk (Grist.org). Don’t worry if you missed it: You can listen to the full show online.

Those 60 minutes on sustainable tips flew by, so here’s a few additional resources that I couldn’t squeeze in during the live broadcast.

How to Choose Clean Energy in Philadelphia & suburbs

If you want to find clean energy supplier, PA Power Switch gives you all the options available in your zip code. We’ve covered a few of the best, local renewable energy options online too.

How to To Go Car-free

How to Volunteer Locally

Volunteering locally and cleaning up have numerous benefits. Here’s how to do it locally:

Electronics Waste Recycling around philadelphia:

  • Need to get rid of old TVs or computers? Best Buy added a $25 fee and is no longer accepting TV/computers in PA. However, you can turn to these local resources.

Thanks again to Radio Times for inviting me on the air! As always, please send over your sustainability questions to contact(at)greenphillyblog.com.
