Last month, the average temps were close to normal, according to a report from Climate Central. Philadelphia’s Decembers have been trending 4.3°F warmer over the past 50 years. It’s also the month with the third fastest rate of warming in the city of brotherly love.
However, the month was wetter than average. There were 4.85 inches of precipitation, which was 116% of the average amount compared to the 1991-2929 NCEI climate ‘ average.’
According to the NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center forecast, January is expected to be warmer than usual.
