Quick Tip: Save Energy, Easy Cooking

Use a toaster oven for smaller meals and snacks, you’ll use a third to half as much energy as your regular oven uses.

Still need to use a conventional oven, like for baking a cake (for Beth’s birthday today – JH)?  No need to preheat as many recipes suggest.  And try turning off the oven 10 to 15 minutes before you finish cooking. Food will continue to cook without using extra electricity.
