Quick Tips: Christmas Energy Savers

Naturally, we use more energy in our homes during the holidays than other times of year.

Here’s some quick pointers to help you save where you can (without sacrificing any of your holiday spirit):

  • Christmas lights: Turn ’em off when you go to bed or leave the house.  You’re not around enjoying them anyway, so why waste the extra energy?
  • Get cozy: Christmas usually means hanging out with family and friends. The more people in your home, the more body warmth – So it’s easier to stay toasty. Turn your thermostat down a few degrees.
  • Speaking of the temp, try turning your heating off  or down when you’re cooking the Christmas dinner – Heat from the kitchen will keep surrounding areas warm.
