10 Green Gifts for Online Black Friday: Avoid the Lines

Black Friday is here! Don’t feel like dealing with long lines and craziness? Stay cozy on your couch & shop for everyone on your list! Here’s 10 of my recommendations that you can purchase online for Black Friday:

  1. Got a Biker in the house? After Philadelphia passed the Complete Streets Bill, bicyclists got a little more street credit in the city. Make sure your loved one is protected with a bike helmet – Performance Bikes even has a sale online (Black Friday & beyond).
  2. Prefer using eco-friendly detergents but want a stronger formula? Does your boyfriend or girlfriend stink after the gym, but you don’t want to hurt their feeling? Send a subtle message with the Roux Maison Sport Detergent –  strong enough for the smelliest workout clothes.
  3. Want to get a living gift for a loved one but think a dog is too much responsibility? Terrariums are popping up everywhere and are quite beautiful for walls, desks and even on necklaces.
  4. For the baker in your life – help them eliminate all that foil or parchment paper waste. Instead, put a Silpat Baking Mat on your shopping list. Silicone-based materials can be used again and again, plus you don’t have to worry about endlessly scrubbing those sticky pans. (I’m obsessed with mine!)
  5. Get Mom excited for picnics outside with this sweet wine tote. With openings for 2 bottles, you’ll guarantee a fun-filled afternoon!
  6. Did your BFF participate in a CSA but complain about wasting the excess food? Get her into the habit of canning with a set of Mason jars! They also come in handy when filling up that grocery list with the bulk bins.
  7. Make sure your green brother is storing his food sans plastic. Wean Green storage containers are tempered glass, making them difficult to break. Check out these 16 oz glass containers. (Don’t get turned off by the ‘baby food’ marketing. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to use glass containers at work or school sans a side of BPA).
  8. Does your man need a little help dressing up? These belts aren’t only guaranteed to make him look dapper, but are also recycled bike treads. He’ll look cooler than that hipster at the 700 Club.
  9. Want to make some of those fabulous smoothie, side dish or half-assed recipes we share? This food processor is on sale on Amazon online for Black Friday. They come in super-handy to quickly chop veggies, make a CSA veggie quiche OR come up with your own creation.
  10. Help your niece or nephew could spread the green gospel while using this sweet upcycled lunch tote.

Readers, will you be fighting store lines or shopping online for Black Friday? (Or neither?)
