This calendar pledges to “rethink all your waste, even your daily #1’s and #2’s.” The Fertile Earth Foundation created a calendar full of beautiful women, with an end goal (as stated on their website):
During a Fertile Earth Workshop last year, one of our volunteers asked, “How did we get so far removed from our poop?” And it got us thinking… How many people think about their poop as often as we do? How often do you ponder your #2? It tells us a lot about our health and what we need to eat, if we are dehydrated and so on. Plus, did you know there are safe ways to turn even our waste into Humanure? Yes, that is composted human poop! Your poop could be turned into to super rich black gold!
Although the calendar is a little out ‘there’, they do want us to reconsider how much waste we create each day – no matter what we’re doing. It’s a good reason – an average person generates 4.5 lbs of trash everyday, and 1.5 tons of solid waste per year. Pretty crazy, right? We can obviously reduce that number by reducing what we buy, reusing what we can, and recycling (or donating) products when we’re finished with them. We don’t recommend starving or trying to change your uh… dietary habits.
If you want to purchase the Ladies of Manure calendar, (whether for the ladies or to think about your waste daily, plastic or shit), just check our the Fertile Earth Foundation’s page.
