Green Your Home & Business with Greenables – Philly-Based Company

After you’re finished making ‘green’ resolutions for yourself, here’s another one to consider: Greening your home!

Greenable is located in the heart of Olde City and can assist you in your abode’s needs – whether you’re building a new house or re-vamping an older design.  They offer supplies ranging from eco-friendly paint, flooring, insulation, and more.  Interested in a more eco-friendly building, but not sure where to start?  Greenable provides many services including  energy audits, consulting and interior design.  Whether your fixing up a home or storefront, Greenable is very knowledgeable with both – their custom orders are  a mix of residential and retail.

Think the only way to turn green is installing $10k solar panels on your house? Don’t worry – Greenable will work with clients on any budget, help you save money and still have a beautiful home.  More importantly, going green will be more sustainable then the alternative – disposible materials.  For example, if you are investing in wind panels, you may have a higher cost upfront.  However, your bills will significantly drop, saving money in the long run.

You can see this concept when stepping into the building – Greenable takes a holistic approach to materials, starting with the first steps of constructions.  If you begin building an eco-friendly house and incorporate those greener measures, you’ll gain more from the outcome.  Moreso, you should be green every step of the way.  Who wants to have a tightly sealed (read: energy efficient) house and capture toxic materials to seal them in?

When chatting with owners Lynn Templeton & Angelo Anastasio, it’s easy to recognize they practice what they preach – Their entire store is environmentally friendly and completely powered by renewable choice energy.

Their backgrounds set the stage for their business.  Previously, Lynn was a commercial designer for green buildings and yearned to do work promoting green everyday products for the community.  While  Angelo was in school at University of the Arts, he enjoyed a project working on environmental sustainability.  The duo met at a Green Building event a few years ago and found their vision a home on Market Street in September ’07.

So what’s next for this duo?  They keep the sustainable community in mind with their ambitions, and want to ultimately assist low income housing in becoming green.

Have more questions about your green projects?  Greenable is located at 126 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA.  Email Lynn & Angelo, or call 215-922-6066.
