Reconsider Your Halloween “Treats”

Did you know that on average, Americans buy over 600 million pounds of candy a year for Halloween?

Are you looking for something to snack on this season other than dangerous high-fructose corn syrup & candy treats?

Have no fear, Green Philly Blog is here with a simple yet effective way to reconsider your Halloween “treats” and to save and snack on your seeds:

When scooping out your squash and/or pumpkin seeds…

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees
  2. Separate & rinse seeds
  3. Toss seeds in a bowl with melted butter & salt
  4. Spread out seeds on baking sheet
  5. Bake seeds for about 45 minutes until golden brown
