SUMMARY:COMMON WATERS: One Ocean Many Voices\, a Charitable Ocean Advocacy Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Arch Enemy Arts is honored to present COMMON WATERS: One Ocean Many Voices\, a charitable exhibition on view now through July 12\, 2026 at Arch Enemy Arts\, located at 109 Arch Street in Old City Philadelphia. Timed with June\, which is globally observed as World Ocean Month\, the exhibition brings together 60 international contemporary artists in support of PangeaSeed\, the nation’s only arts-based ocean advocacy organization.\n\nA portion of exhibition proceeds\, along with visitor donations and raffles\, will directly benefit PangeaSeed’s ocean conservation initiatives. Guests are invited to visit the gallery in person to view the artwork\, learn more about PangeaSeed\, and ocean literacy. Artwork is also available to view and purchase online to support the fundraiser at www.archenemyarts.com/commonwaters2026.\n\nPresented in Philadelphia\, the birthplace of the United States\, during the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding\, COMMON WATERS encourages viewers to look beyond borders and consider the ocean as a shared and sustaining force. Artists were invited to create original works inspired by the ocean\, its ecosystems\, and humanity’s impact on the sea\, drawing from themes of climate\, biodiversity\, conservation\, and global interconnectedness.\n\nAcross drawing\, painting\, sculpture\, and mixed media\, the exhibition offers a wide-ranging and imaginative look at the sea. Some works are wondrous and reverent\, transforming marine life and deep-sea creatures into guiding companions\, while others confront more urgent realities including warming reefs\, rising seas\, consumption\, natural disaster\, and the environmental costs of global trade. Together\, the works remind us that no shore or action exists in isolation.\n\nExhibition Details\n\nCOMMON WATERS: One Ocean Many Voices\n\nExhibition Dates: June 5 – July 12\, 2026\nLocation: Arch Enemy Arts\, 109 Arch Street\, Philadelphia\, PA 19106\nGallery Hours: Wednesday–Friday\, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. | Saturday–Sunday\, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.\nAdmission: Free and open to the public\nView Online: www.archenemyarts.com/commonwaters2026\n\nAbout Arch Enemy Arts\nArch Enemy Arts is a contemporary art gallery located in Old City Philadelphia. SUMMARY:Philly Unwrapped Community Waste Reduction Engagement Session
DESCRIPTION:Philly Unwrapped is a coalition-driven initiative working to establish a city-wide reuse system in Philadelphia. Our work is focused on reducing single-use waste\, protecting public health\, and creating the conditions for reuse to become standard practice across our city’s businesses\, institutions\, and communities.\n\nWe invite you to join us for our next in-person session\, hosted in partnership with Germantown United CDC at Our House Culture Center on Germantown Avenue. This session is part of a six-part series that includes both virtual and in-person convening\, each one an opportunity to deepen our collective understanding\, strengthen partnerships\, and move this work forward together.\n\n \n\nFood will be provided and Spanish interpretation will be available. Space is limited to 30 seats\, so please register early and plan to arrive on time.\n\nThis session will focus on two areas:\n\n First\, we will examine the business case for reuse. Participants will share real examples of organizations transitioning away from single-use packaging and service ware\, including the financial savings\, operational considerations\, and the impact on customer health and community trust.\n Second\, Trash Academy will lead a community engagement session where participants are invited to share their own questions\, barriers\, and considerations around reuse adoption. This is an important part of our process. Building a system that works for Philadelphia requires honest input from the organizations and communities who will be part of it.\n\nWe are asking food and beverage businesses\, city agencies\, NGOs\, BIDs\, neighborhood associations\, and concerned residents to register\, attend\, and stay engaged. This work depends on sustained participation from across the city.\n\n \n\nBusinesses that attend will also gain access to future grant opportunities to support their transition to reuse.\n\n \n\nBest Regards\, Partners and Collaborators\,\n\nECHO Systems\n\nGermantown United CDC\n\nThe Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia\n\nTrash Academy\n\nRethink Disposable\, a project of Clean Water Fund\n\nAnd the Philly Unwrapped Coalition\n\n \n\n \n\nFunding support provided by EPA Region 3 Thriving Communities.\n\n

SUMMARY:Arborlogues
DESCRIPTION:A BOTANICAL RECITAL PERFORMED FOR ONE TREE\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSave The Meadows is bringing ARBORLOGUES to FDR Park for its Philadelphia premiere!\n\nARBORLOGUES is a one-person play where you are the performer and a single tree is your audience. ARBORLOGUES has been performed across the world\, for a wide variety of trees. The 15 minute play takes place within a specially built red curtain theater that hangs from a specifically chosen tree. After receiving the bound script from the stage manager you are left alone with your arboreal audience. The script leads you through a series of stories\, prompts\, and actions related to this tree\, this land\, and yourself.\n\nRead more about this immersive theater piece in The New York Times.\n\nWhat to know:\n\n The performances will continue rain or shine.\n There is a ten-minute walk between the parking location and the site of the performance. The ground can be uneven and sometimes muddy. Please wear shoes you are comfortable hiking in. Please arrive 15 minutes early\, so an usher can show you the way to the ‘theater’.\n Since this play can only be experienced by a very limited amount of people\, please cancel your reservation if you are not able to attend\, so that your slot can be offered to someone else.\n If you are a student or low-income\, you can use promo code 21TREE for a reduced-price ticket.\n All proceeds from this event benefit Save The Meadows\, the neighbor-led campaign to stop the destruction of South Philly’s only wild urban green space.

SUMMARY:Climate Closet
DESCRIPTION:Climate Closet is a free\, community-centered event where you can declutter your closet\, find new-to-you clothing\, and learn practical ways to extend the life of your wardrobe. Browse free clothing\, donate items you no longer need\, explore hands-on activities like clothing repair\, mending\, and upcycling\, and connect with local climate and community organizations through educational resource tables.\n\nUnlike a traditional one-for-one clothing swap\, Climate Closet follows a mutual aid model: everyone is welcome to take what they need\, whether or not they’re able to bring items to donate. Clothing donations are encouraged but never required\, making the event accessible to all. Together\, we’re reducing textile waste\, promoting sustainable fashion\, connecting with local climate initiatives\, and building a stronger\, more connected community.
