DESCRIPTION:Parkway Central Library  \nRoom 108 \n5:30 – 7:30 PM \nJoin Special Collections and the Art Department for this two-part workshop and leave with your very own giant bird hat! In part 1\, using recycled materials we will sculpt cardboard hats into the shape of one of Philadelphia’s local bird species. In part 2 we will complete construction of the hats\, add soft fabric on the inside to get a snug fit\, and begin painting! If not finished by the end of part 2\, participants can finish painting their hats at home. \nThis program is part of Go Birds: Appreciating Our Avian Friends\, a special exhibition on view in the Second Floor West Gallery of Parkway Central Library. Go Birds is a collaboration of the Children’s Literature Research Collection\, the Government Publications Department\, the Map Collection\, and the Print and Picture Collection. In the 1700s\, these briny bites were the original fast food\, with shells paving city streets. DESCRIPTION:Parkway Central Library \n\nRoom 108\n\n6:00 – 7:30 PM\n\nJoin Special Collections and the Art Department for this two-part workshop and leave with your very own giant bird hat! In part 1\, using recycled materials we will sculpt cardboard hats into the shape of one of Philadelphia’s local bird species. In part 2 we will complete construction of the hats\, add soft fabric on the inside to get a snug fit\, and begin painting! If not finished by the end of part 2\, participants can finish painting their hats at home.\n\nThis program is part of Go Birds: Appreciating Our Avian Friends\, a special exhibition on view in the Second Floor West Gallery of Parkway Central Library. Go Birds is a collaboration of the Children’s Literature Research Collection\, the Government Publications Department\, the Map Collection\, and the Print and Picture Collection. How can we develop trust in scientists and scientific results while combating the spread of misinformation?\n\nTo kick off the Fall TripleC @ TripleB series\, we will hear from Temple University Assistant Professor of Advertising and Public Relations\, Dr. Meghnaa Tallapragada\, and FactCheck.org staff writer\, Kate Yandell\, as they discuss their work and experience in climate communication\, public perception\, and misinformation.
