SUMMARY:Virtual Philly Unwrapped Community Waste Reduction Engagement Session II
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand\, Join us for our second Philly Unwrapped Community Waste reduction engagement session.\n\n \n\n\nPhilly Unwrapped is a coalition-driven initiative working to establish a city-wide reuse system in Philadelphia. Our work is focused on reducing single-use waste\, protecting public health\, and creating the conditions for reuse to become standard practice across our city’s businesses\, institutions\, and communities.\n\n \n\nWe invite you to register for our second virtual session on May 11th from 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM (A zoom link will be sent out when you register). This gathering is part of a six-part series that includes two additional in-person sessions. Each convening is an opportunity to deepen our collective understanding\, strengthen partnerships\, and move this work forward together.\n\n \n\nThis session will focus on two areas:\n\n \n\nFirst\, we will examine the business case for reuse. Participants will share real examples of organizations transitioning away from single-use packaging and serviceware\, including the financial savings\, operational considerations\, and the impact on customer health and community trust.\n\n \n\nSecond\, Trash Academy will lead a community engagement session where participants are invited to share their own questions\, barriers\, and considerations around reuse adoption. This is an important part of our process. Building a system that works for Philadelphia requires honest input from the organizations and communities who will be part of it.\n\n \n\nWe are asking anchor institutions\, businesses\, neighborhood associations\, CDCs\, BIDs\, chambers\, and community organizations to register\, attend\, and stay engaged. This work depends on sustained participation from across the city.\n\n \n\nPartners and Collaborators\,\n\nECHO Systems\n\nThe Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia\n\nTrash Academy\n\nRethink Disposable\, a project of Clean Water Fund\n\nAnd the Philly Unwrapped Coalition\n\nFunding support provided by EPA Region 3 Thriving Communities.\n\n \n\n\n
