United By Blue Frankford Creek Cleanup

April 24, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Join United By Blue for a cleanup of Frankford Creek as we support Temple University’s Global Days of Service! In partnership with the City of Philadelphia, TTF Watershed Partnership, and Temple University, we will head to Frankford Creek and spend an evening giving back to our local Philadelphia community.

Frankford Creek runs through several beloved parks in Northeast Philadelphia. It gives community members a chance to escape into nature and enjoy the parks, trails, and green space that the creek supports. As a tributary to the Delaware River, Frankford Creek is not only a gem of the local community, but also essential to the health of the Tookany/Tacony – Frankford Watershed. However, as an urban river, Frankford Creek experiences some issues with litter and other pollutants entering the waterway, which affects the habitat and health of the surrounding ecosystems.

Help us keep Frankford Creek clean for all to use and enjoy by joining us for our cleanup! Supplies and cleanup games will be provided, and we recommend wearing long pants with sturdy shoes. Post-cleanup snacks will be provided by the Cow and the Curd.
