Join the Inland Ocean Coalition ambassador for a socially distant clean up of Penn Treaty Park along the Delaware River! Philly’s parks have seen record usage over the past few months with an increase in litter and are in need of our help! Enjoy the outdoors while helping clean up your local park (socially distant) and learn about how we can protect the oceans and our waterways inland.
Supplies will be provided (but feel free to bring you own) and please dress for warm weather conditions and don’t forget your mask!
Along the rocky shoreline of the Delaware River in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, sits Penn Treaty Park. With epic views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the beautiful Delaware River, Penn Treaty park is a true symbol of the City of Brotherly Love.
It was here, where history suggests, William Penn signed a peace treaty with the Lenape tribe, exchanging words of friendship. While the historical park is frequented by outdoor enthusiasts, runners, dog-lovers and picnickers alike, it is often a victim to trash that collects along the Delaware banks from surrounding industrial areas and the bustling Columbus Blvd.
Please join us in cleaning up Penn Treaty Park, preserving its history for generations to come!
**This event will be capped at 25 people to be in ordinance with health and safety guidelines. **
If this event is full, please stay tuned and look out for our next clean up event!
