How will we adjust to a hotter, wetter Philadelphia? Join us to discover how Philadelphians are rising up to the challenges of climate change while creating opportunities in the green economy.
Join us for a Philadelphia Water Department-led tour of some public pieces of green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) including the Hestonville Rain Garden. On the tour attendees will learn about the function of this GSI, more about the Green City, Clean Waters program, and details about small grants available for local organizations to adopt such structures.
After touring the Hestonville Rain Garden, we’ll spend time touring the Overbrook Environmental Education Center to learn about their stormwater initiatives.
The evening will conclude with an intimate roundtable to discuss how different organizations are creating economic opportunities through climate change and environmental initiatives. Hear about the Overbrook Center’s GSI program, a project-based learning experience where students become active participants in the educational experience. Attendees are encouraged to engage in conversation, rather than taking a backseat.
The roundtable will be limited to 20 registrants, so please sign up to claim your spot.
This roundtable and dinner are made possible by CUSP.
