Every year Da Vinci Art Alliance (DVAA) puts on a free month-long arts, science, and culture festival throughout the month of April. Everyday Futures Fest (EFF) explores how Philadelphians can incorporate cultural, urban, and environmental sustainability into their everyday lives. This year our theme is Building Capacity — Towards Self-Sufficiency And Collective Resilience. The festival kick-offs with a Val’s Lesbian Bar Poetry Night and Fundraiser on Wednesday, April 3rd from 7-10pm at DVAA, highlighting Queer BIPOC storytelling.
This year, Da Vinci has 30+ free programs and exhibitions running through the month of April, and on the day of the block party itself, 40+ vendors, orgs tabling, and food pop-ups. Register now for any festival event in the EFF Program Guide at everydayfuturesfest.org/2024.Â
Our events range in craft, focus, and approach to sustainability, from an Appalachian string quilting workshop, to a clothing and diaper drive for the Wardrobe and Puentes de Salud, to a silent auction centering art on the theme of sustainability, to a take out container turned shrinky dink jewelry workshop with Second State Press, to a farmstead visit discussing dyeing with invasive species!Â
